A full day tour which will show you the enchanting wine-growing region of the Wachau. The hillside is dotted with castles and ruins laying claim to the area's interesting past. The Danube has many legends to tell as you take in the ever-changing scenery of villages and vineyards. One of the highlights is the old ruins of D?rnstein, were the English King 'Richard the Lionhart' was imprisoned until being found by his loyal minstrel Blondel.
The heart of the Wachau is the old wine-merchants town of Krems and during a romantic boat trip the history of the area will come alive. To complete this day you will have the opportunity to visit Melk with its magnificent Benedictine Monastery, there will be the possibility for lunch at the Monastery Restaurant within the gardens.
The tour finishes back at the Opera House.
